Riverside Certified Farmers Market
The spring and summer months are a great time to get outdoors and chow down on some fresh food from local vendors. Luckily, Riverside has the perfect place to do just that.
The Riverside Certified Farmers Market offers locally grown, organic, and all-around fresh fruits and vegetables to whet your appetite. Whether you want just one juicy red tomato, a whole crate of avocados, or a basket of sweet strawberries, this is the place for you.
A lot of the best food from this market comes straight from backyard gardens, which are completely pesticide-free. There is always plenty of variety in the foods that are sold, but there are also handcrafted arts and jewelry by local artisans.
The market is a great place for kids on a sunny Friday afternoon. In fact, the market often invites schools to take classrooms of children on a field trip to the farmers market.
While there, Riverside children learn all about farming and even get some advice on how to tend a school garden of their own.
Anyone is welcome to sell and shop at the Riverside farmers market. For three straight years customers voted the market the #1 Farmers’ Market in the Inland Empire.
The only disadvantage is that the Riverside Certified Farmers Market is only open on Fridays, from 8 a.m. to noon. That’s not long, but it’s plenty of time to get some fruits and veggies for the week and to enjoy the Riverside community.
You’ll find the market on Arlington Avenue in the Sears parking lot.
If you’ve never been to this farmers market, we highly recommend it. For more information and directions, visit their website.
